Numerical Study of the In-Plane Seismic Response of RC Infilled Frames

Reinforced Concrete (RC) buildings with masonry infills are a very common structural typology worldwide for civil, strategic, or productive use. Damage to may cause danger human lives and strongly affects economic losses, as shown during past earthquakes. In the current literature, different approaches available modeling in-plane response of infilled frames constitutive laws generally calibrated on experimental tests. On contrary, few recent studies proposed formulas that account main properties influencing their behavior lateral forces. This paper presents study finalized derive reliable model is able predict monotonic cyclic RC frames. To this end, after critical analysis authors combine among them two models, one other one, by showing reliability reference cases. Then, at end paper, derived models employed assess seismic vulnerability throughout procedure based pushover approach.
